一般不了解此曲歌的人，在歌曲一始即到sweet Jesus以及之後的railway station、sweet Mary等，很可能是一首於救的歌。其是一首於毒品、尤指大麻的歌曲。Toke的意思是用 ( 或斗 ) 吸大麻。於作此曲，Tom Shipley解道：我大麻有像是基督教的餐 ( sacrament )，若完整歌，可one toke只是一喻，的是於「度 ( excess )」，做任何事若「度」的，很可能害死你。
