此首《Crying In The Chapel》是作曲家Artie Glenn他的子Darrell唱的，而Darrell在唱此曲也才是高中的年。此曲曾被家唱片公司打了回票，最後是由出版商Valley於1953行，在及告示牌排行榜分拿下第1及第6名。年翻唱此曲的位歌手，在西部村榜的成也都不差 ( Rex Allen #8 / Ella Fitzgerald #15 / Art Lund #23 )。而成最好的是美女歌手June Valli，她的流行版在1953入告示牌17，最高到了第4名。


Darrell Glenn

王Elvis Presley於1960他的福音歌曲《His Hand in Mine》期，也同唱了此曲，但唱片公司 ( RCA Victor ) 未此曲入，面上的法是RCA所的版本不十分意，而真正的原因是行利金的，和王的人Colonel Parker不 ( Parker有先去找此曲的版有者Valley Publisher洽商 )。此曲延宕至1965才另以曲行 ( 未重 )，在告示牌榜得了第3名，另在易及英排行榜均得冠。是王自1963以第一首入榜前3名好成的歌曲，他而言，不啻是打了一心。事上不只如此，此曲前後替王了6年，因直到1969才又有冠曲《Suspicious Mind》的出。

是一首福音歌曲，即使只是在普通的小教堂，只要面上帝，都能得心的慰。不，在教堂中掉，也常是在婚的景，父母看到子女成婚，在既高而又不的心情下，很容易就盈眶吧！
