1973，老合唱 ( Eagles ) 出了第二《Desperado》，主要是以西部及一些不法之徒主，其中即包含了此首《Doolin Dalton》。此曲由住同公寓的Glenn Frey、J.D. Souther、Jackson Browner等三人，及另Glenn死的Don Henley所合。

歌曲主要是西部期著名的匪「Dalton」的故事。名思，Dalton主要是由Dalton家三兄弟Grat、Bob及Emmett於1890所成，之後又有Bill Doolin等一些人的加入，劫的目主要是火和行。1892/10/05，Dalton的6人合去行堪斯州科菲(Coffeyville)的行，可惜天霉星高照，然入城低，但是被人了出，在要出行即已被前後住，一之後，包含Grat、Bob Dalton兄弟在的四人遭，弟弟Emmett全身共有23的未死，果被判期徒刑，在了14年後。另一位在小巷中匹的匪徒逃逸，Emmett未出此人是，而一般咸信第6人即是Bill Doolin。

Emmett Dalton

1892，在Coffeyville之後，Emmett的另位哥哥William M. Dalton遇了Bill Doolin，人再匪，作「Doolin-Dalton」，但一般均之「Wild Bunch」，事行的行。1894，William M. Dalton在被捕中命。Bill Doolin本偕同妻子躲得好好的，但後了利用澡堂解痛，去到了阿肯色州的Eureka Springs，果是被追到，1896在澡堂中被散。

Bill Doolin遭散

Emmett Dalton出後了本《When The Daltons Rode》，後被拍成影。1937世，享年66。
