Tammy Wynette在18首任丈夫婚，之後生了三女，由於小女得了「脊髓膜炎」，Wynette了想多一些生活，利用晚上登台表演，但她的先生不支持她企要成村歌星的想。1966，Wynette婚後著三女搬到村音之都─田西州的(Nashville)，之後以一首唱曲《Apartment No. 9》得唱片作人Billy Sherrill的，自此展其村音之途，博得了「村音第一夫人」的美。
Tammy Wynette共5次婚，第三任丈夫也是在村音界赫赫有名的George Jones ( 人有一女 )。1998，55的 Wynette被死在家中的躺椅上，她的私人生是死於肺部的血栓，但她的三女此死因存疑，母原本好好的，有可能是生的治所造成，也疑第五任的丈夫「有所情」。告官之後法院只能再棺，最後官方宣的死因「心律失常」。
Tammy Wynette的歌曲，多都是在孤寂、失婚、生活困或是情感葛主上打，然也是因她的嗓音，歌曲特到位。此首《Talkin' To Myself Again》其1987《Higher Ground》中的歌曲，曲只村榜第16名，而仍不失一首佳作。
