老歌(119)Wasted Days And Wasted Nights

毫疑，Freddy Fender（佛迪凡德）的成名曲是《Before The Next Teardrop Falls》，但之前我在介首歌（13），未用他的版本，而首《Wasted Days And Wasted Nights》，是Freddy Fender 的唯二代表作了。

 

位具有墨西哥血的佛老兄，其成功也是相具有奇性。童年跟著父母在打工，就喜模仿收音中的村歌手哼哼唱唱。16即校，17加入，待了三年，因喝酒常被禁，最後被事法庭裁定撤。退伍後回到德州，在一些夜、酒吧和小酒唱，走的是德州和墨西哥的曲路，在地算小有名。1960因持有大麻被捕，判刑五年。他在服刑常於末演唱中人，三年後得假重返音界，也入大攻社。

 

1971年Freddy Fender遇了他生命中的人，一位名德州的作人Huey Meaux，在他的鼓下了音室，以英文和西班牙文翻唱了那首《Before The Next Teardrop Falls》，1975年5月登上了和村排行榜的料冠。然後，再重新他自己在1959的首《Wasted Days And Wasted Nights》，也得到榜的第8名，自此名利收。
