Schnitzel is probably the only German new word I learned from this trip. Why? It’s delicious, it’s exactly my food.
Before this trip, my friend already provided me some hint, "you should definitely try Vienna deep-fried pork sirloin. Sure, why not? That’s my favorite, too. Thus, after long flight and long train traveling all the way from San Diego to Salzburg, I had my my first real meal in continental Europe. Yes, that’s right. Schnitzel.
The first Schnitzel I tried was Vienna Schnitzel as shown in the first figure. Interestingly enough, the restaurant we went to the second evening had different kind of schnitzel, Salzburg Schnitzel. Of course, curiosity kills the PIG. I had to figure out what the differences are between Vienna and Salzburg Schnitzel. Thus, I had Salzburg Schnitzel for my second day dinner.
What’s in common, first? They all taste good. However, as you can see here, Salzburg Schnitzel has more stuff inside, mushroom, ham, cheese, and vegetables. Which one do you pick? I bet you are going to pick the one I picked...
