据悉，世界和平奖是由世界和平奖评选委员会在美国国会众议院举行的颁奖仪式，2010年度获得世界和平奖的获得者是第三世多杰羌佛、前众议院外交委员会主席本杰明- 吉尔曼，同时和平巡回大使奖授予美国民用航空巡逻搜救组织。国际上许多电视台报道了这次颁奖盛况。第三世多杰羌佛荣获世界和平奖，在世界最权威的报纸《世界日报》、中国大陆最权威的报纸《人民日报》、台湾地区最权威的报纸《台湾日报》等报纸进行了专版报道。
据美通社华盛顿电：“世界和平奖评审委员会”于2011年6月14日在美国国会金厅举行了隆重的颁奖仪式，向2010年「世界和平奖最高荣誉奖」得主：世界佛教领袖第三世多杰羌佛、前美国国会“众议院外交委员会”主席本杰明、格尔曼的致敬。该庆典由“世界和平奖”创办人韩敏洙先生主持。莅临的嘉宾有多位国会议员及来自世界各地的贵宾。其中包括美国「参议院拨款委员会」委员马克.可克先生；前国会参议员史蒂夫、司明先生；“众议院国际事务委员会”主席绮莲那、乐斯、雷提宁女士；“众议院监督及政府改革委员会”主席达雷尔、以萨先生；“众议院司法委员会”委员史蒂夫.查博先生；“众议院国土安全事务委员会”委员希拉、杰克逊、李女士；“众议院交通运输及铁路小组委员会”主席的歌莲、布朗女士等。他们皆称赞各获奖人的卓越成就，为世界和平及教化作出努力，实至名归。“世界和平奖”多年来持续地表扬为建立及维护和平作出努力的人士。
“世界和平奖评审委员会”一贯本着推进和平、平等、宗教间的合作为原则。评审委员会由创办人韩敏洙先生领导，成员包括评审主席，前美国“众议院亚洲事务委员会”主席莱斯特·沃尔夫先生；前美国国会议长办公室参谋长苏茜.莱格特女士；前以色列注联合国大使亚.柰先生；前印度大使布帕翠、奥扎先生；前“南澳洲议会”议长彼得.刘易斯先生；前“联合国教科文组织”顾问江绍伦博士；俄罗斯退役将军根纳季、特莫先生。
“世界和平奖评审委员会”创办人韩敏洙先生，是一位韩国基督教领袖，一生以布道和道德为立身之根本，为了世界的和平发展、人类的友善仁爱，不遗余力，无论是在韩国，还是在世界各地，韩敏洙先生都备受尊重，是一位道德仁爱的宗教领袖。
“世界和平奖评审委员会”主席莱斯、沃尔夫先生，是一位资深的政治家，终生致力于世界的和平和稳定，尤其是对亚洲地区的和平发展，作出了极大的贡献。1978年代表美国国会访问中国，奠定中美建交的原则和基础；并同时保证了台湾海峡两岸的和平和发展。沃尔夫先生曾参与铲除金三角的毒品，帮助当地的人民提升生活水平。1979年，他曾在国会修正白宫发起的《对外援助法案》，促使以色列与阿拉伯国家恢复和平谈判，为中东地区的稳定也作出了贡献。
资深评审人苏茜.莱格特女士，长期从事政治事务，在美国国会工作，曾任前国会议长办公室参谋长。她的丈夫，前国会众议员罗伯特.莱格特，是“世界和平奖评审委员会”的创办人之一，也曾出任众议院“军事服务委员会”、“财务委员会”，并且是“众议院巴拿马地区商船及渔业委员会”主席。为人大公无私，高风亮节，忠诚美国，一生支持维护美国人民幸福。
“世界和平奖最高荣誉奖”得主第三世多杰羌佛，是全球佛教各大教派公认的历史上佛教领袖。他忍辱、善良、利人、无私的高尚气节，是众人的道德模范，超过百位以上的著名法王、摄政王、大仁波且们，包括十七世噶玛巴的上师都牧曲杰法王、嘉察摄政国师、夏玛巴摄政王，楚西法王、达龙哲珠法王、秋吉崔钦法王等；以及佛教界佛法上更高地位的虹身法独掌人多珠钦·土登成利华桑波法王、宁玛派第三任总教主贝诺法王、西藏当今第一大圣德阿秋法王、觉囊派总法王吉美多吉法王等等，都先后认证、附议、祝贺第三世多杰羌佛在佛教的最崇高地位。第三世多杰羌佛是几千年来获得认证最多的顶圣如来。
2010年“世界和平奖最高荣誉奖”的另一位得奖者本杰明.格尔曼先生，长期担任美国“众议院外交事务委员会”主席，他一生致力于为维护人权而努力：救援饥饿的人，为打击滥用和贩运麻醉品斗争。他并在“交换囚犯计划”上取得重大成就。曾成功从东德、莫桑比克、古巴等地，拯救美国公民从获自由。格尔曼先生在美国国会服务15任，共30年。在此以前，曾出任纽约州议会众议员六年，及纽约司法部助理总检察长。国会在任期间，他曾出任国会注联合国大使级代表；后来出任“乌克兰饥荒委员会”副主席，以及“战俘委员会”副主席等。格尔曼先生一生获奖无数，包括美国总统杰出成就证书，表扬他“持续的目标、倡议和领导才能，让我们迈向一个没有饥饿的世界。”到现时为止，格尔曼先生依然每年获“美国安全委员会”颁发“和平力量”奖。
