SUSE Software Engineer (Desktop Software Engineer)

Description:
SUSE is looking for Linux desktop application engineers. The base will be
Beijing. In this position, you will be working on Linux application
development based on popular GUI environment including X, XGL,
GTK+, GNOME. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
o Coding, debugging and validating application software on SUSE Linux.
o Designing software modules with professional design documents.
o Collaborating with team members across different sites.

Required Skills

Qualifications:
o Bachelor degree in Computer Science or the related majors is required. Master’s
degree is plus.
o At least two years experience on Linux software development.
o Familiarity with GUI software development environment such as X, XGL,
GTK+, GNOME, etc.
o Skills in C programming, python or Javascript is plus.
o Knowledge of Open Source development models
o Good software engineering skills, teamwork
o Good written/oral English skills

Required Experience

Required Skills:
1. Good C programming skill. Good code reading ability.
2. Knowledge of Linux development enviorment, Experience with Autotools.
3. Knowledge of gtk/gnome, Gnome development experience.
4 Excellent oral and written communication skills.

SUSE- QA Engineer
Job Description

Responsibilities:
* Timely definition, documentation and implementation of test
criteria in working together with the SUSE engineering teams,
other Novell teams as well as Partners
* Construct and maintain automation test environments and tools on
source codes
* Execution of software tests
* Development of test software for new technologies on demand
* Maintenance and improvements of existing test tools
* Ongoing evaluation of new test tools
* Integration of new test tools into existing test harnesses


Required Skills

Qualification:
* Graduation as IT Specialist or similar qualification;
* Strong programming skills in script languages (e.g. perl, python,
shell)
* Knowledge of C or other programming languages is a plus
* Good knowledge of Unix and Linux operating systems
* Experience with debugging of systems and applications

SUSE- QA Automation Engineer
Job Description

The SUSE Quality Assurance department plays a critical role in ensuring the overall quality of SUSE products. This QA Engineer position is both a development/engineering and customer support role. In this position, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining automation tools and scripts, training customers and supporting them in their deployments, and analyzing and debugging reported issues. You will work along with other QA engineers, product leaders and developers to fulfill these responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

- Directly support and be the main point of contact for certain customer deployments.

- Understand customer environments and duplicate customer deployment scenarios internally for testing and debugging.

- Handle and fix customer-reported issues, where applicable.

- Design, develop and document automation tools, features and test scripts.

- Execute automated tests and analyze and report the results.

- Create documentation and provide occasional on-site customer training and support.

- This position will require approximately 10% of time on travel to customer locations (about 6 weeks per year).
Required Skills

Required Skills and Experience:

- 3-5 years or more of experience in software development/engineering or customer support.

- Excellent working knowledge of Linux.

- Programming skills. Proficient in one or more programming/scripting languages (preferred languages: Perl, Python, C/C++, PHP, SQL, Bash).

- Good communication skills (Chinese and English).

- Ability to interact with customers directly.

- Experience conducting technical internal or customer trainings.

- Prior QA or automation testing experience preferred.

- Debugging systems and applications.

- Quick at learning and understanding new products and technologies.
