自由电子激光器:一种利用在真空中高速运动的自由电子束作为增益介质产生激光的装置。与普通激光器依赖原子/分子能级跃迁不同,自由电子激光器通常通过电子在波荡器/摆动器(undulator/wiggler)磁场中“摆动”辐射并被放大,可实现可调谐、高峰值功率,甚至覆盖从微波到X射线等宽频段。(该术语在不同语境下也可简称 FEL。)
